Stuff like, "if you don't have a soup blender, you can still use a potato masher, ricer, sieve, a fork, or even your fists to punch the vegetables into the soup until it becomes a fine puree", the author advertising its own brand of weird utensils, and also adding unexpected ingredients.

Take a specific emotion, maybe even a rare one, and try to build a story that amplifies it to the maximum.

A completely exaggerated tall tale, in the form of some invented tradition, like Paul Bunyany or other invented folklore (see wikipedia).
Except there's increasingly, absolutely no way that it's remotely true.
